Exceptional Warriors take to the Rapids on the Nantahala in beautiful NC.
On 9/30/16, The Foundation for Exceptional Warriors (The FEW) took to the rapids with the Nantahala Outdoor Center (French Broad outpost) came together to host a half-day trip for some of America’s Exceptional Warriors. The French Broad river is located approximately 30 minutes Northeast of Asheville, NC.
The Warriors had the opportunity to enjoy a uninterrupted rafting trip where they encountered, both class II and class III rapids. During the trip, the guides provided historical information on the local area, hydrology, and information about the local wildlife.
After the rafting trip the Warriors sat down to reflect on the morning and continue the conversation over an awesome North Carolina BBQ lunch in downtown Asheville.
This opportunity would not be possible without the support of appreciative local partners. I want to thank our guides, French Broad outpost management, and the Warriors that came together to make this day possible.
The FEW continues to “Reach” out to inspire America’s Exceptional Warriors. The FEW “Recognizes” the need for continued support among our veteran community. And “Refresh” the Warrior spirit with Recreational Therapy that facilitates connected-ness and personal empowerment.
We encourage Americans from all walks of life to engage with their local Military and Veteran community. The same 1% that raised their hand, took an oath to protect you, your loved ones, and this great Nation.
If you are an Exceptional Warrior and would like to attend a therapeutic outdoor event please fill out an application. Thank you for your service!
