From Omar
Lost a warrior that was near and dear to my heart. Although his gun wounds were not self inflicted (suicide) it may as well have been. His PTSD went untreated after serving in Afghanistan and the path to destruction there after was similar to mine, yours and other warriors. When Chris Cooper was shot, in his midst of his anger and destruction, he was simply looking to call someone for help! I want to encourage you to not just take part of our (The FEW) outreach events but get involved in other’s lives. Don’t just be a consumer, be a contributor: why? Because there are too many of us in need and not enough people wanting to do the work. It takes interpersonal relationship building to bring these walls, defense mechanism and what not, down to where we can be effective and impactful in other warriors lives as well as their families. It’s not about the large number we reach out to, it’s about the quality life long impact we have on each other-comradeship. We need quality relationships NOT quantity. http://www.kten.com/story/29472418/bryan-county-shooting Much love my dear warriors. Always lead with the heart. “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” John 15:13 NIV
